LUHA was instrumental in ensuring that the principal cladding material Terracotta, was successful, both in stick-built and unitized applications, including horizontally on exterior soffits. Additionally, their cladding sub-framing systems were key in the high end execution of all cladding products through on the job. Luha has been an integral partner in the evolution of stone cladding with rainscreen support systems on our unique projects, and their team members have been phenomenal to work with. In our Special Projects arena we began to see the architectural community transition from natural stone attached with conventional tie back methods to Rainscreen Systems with Metal or Ceramic facades. Due to the harsh weather environments where these projects are located ventilated cavities soon became the norm. Working with Luha and its manufacturing partner we were able to design and engineer backup systems to support 4cm thick large designed stone panels.
